Three Pears, 6″x9″, watercolor on Arches 140# I painted these three pears while I was working on my color studies last week. I’m fairly happy with the pears and the shape of the shadows. I’m not happy with the way the darker pigment deposited itself within the shadow. I would have liked for it to be smoother.

I haven’t posted lately, but I’m still alive. Grumpy and totally annoyed with the weather, but still breathing. Last weekend brought us ice. This weekend brought us snow. In between, bone-chilling cold. Blech. My idea of Hell IS a cold day, I am ready for it to BE GONE! How cold was it? Cold enough to break the seal between my tire and the rim. Yep. Today, I selected the paints I’ll use in my palette, then painted spheres using color complements for shading.
Brrr…. welcome to the Ice Planet Hoth. I scraped a half inch of ice off my car earlier this evening so I won’t have to do it in the morning. Not only is it supposed to be incredibly, nastily, single-digit cold, it’s supposed to be windy. Argh. Grrr… Time Warner Cable downloaded it’s “new and improved” software to my digital cable box on Thursday. Since I use my ReplayTV interface instead of TWC’s, I wouldn’t…
