Fair? I think not….

According to the local media, the average low temperature in Kansas City in the last week was less than 6 degrees Fahrenheit. I’m not entirely sure the average high ever got above freezing. Currently, it’s almost noon, it’s 9 degrees and “fair”, according to the weather widget. In my opinion, 9 degrees is anything but fair.

Mischief, with her thin silky coat, is having a bad hair month. Mayhem has thicker fur, but he gets zapped by a static charge every few minutes. I’ve got more joints that are inflamed than those that aren’t, and I’m beginning to feel trapped in the office because I just can’t bear going out into the cold during my lunch break. And the furnace is beginning to sound tired and somewhat depressed.

Seriously. I’m done now. Can we move on to spring? Please?

We had a month last year of almost constant sub zero. The high for the month was 11 degrees. This year hasn’t been nearly as cold for us- I think the storms passed north of us on their way to you this time. So I hear ya.

My long haired cat gets zapped by static all the time too. Since she lived in California for her first 15 years she’s still pretty annoyed and confused by it.

Hope your joints feel better, that is aggravating.

Well, for the static thing, as long as you are not allergic to fabric softener, put a couple of tablespoons in a spray bottle, add water, and spray on the traffic area of carpet. Cuts down the static buildup.

When i worked at KU we killed a plant in a planter by brushing up against its leaves in passing during a cold, static-y winter.

You poor thing. I really, really hate cold weather. But I guess I won’t be complaining to you about our 35-degree high today, which wasn’t far off from our 30-degree low last night. Is there a goddess ritual we can perform via the Internet to change the weather there for you? Hug those kitties for me!
