WV in winter: blech.

I’ve arrived in West Virginia and settled in. The flights from KC to Chicago/Midway and then on to Pittsburgh were uneventful. Enjoyed a nice lemony chicken soup from a greek place in the food court for lunch — yummy. The drive from Pittsburgh to Morgantown was yucky. Had a yummy home-cooked dinner with one of my little sisters, her husband, and their 18-month-old. It was a nice visit. The drive from Morgantown to Buckhannon was yucky, punctuated by freezing rain. Mom and Baby Sis are having a quiet evening climbing Mt.Laundry and watching "Extreme Makeover." Tomorrow, I’ll take Mom to her doctor and physical therapy appointments, and then slog through Walmart for the fixin’s for the holiday meal. It’s supposed to snow. Joy.

Tonight’s episode of Dysfunctional Family Theatre includes a performance by the Passive Aggressive Players, with  brief musical interludes entitled Custody Battle Blues and The Sound of (Awkward) Silence. Stay tuned.

    For what it’s worth

I’m praying to the ghoddess that you don’t get too pulled apart in this visit.

If you just need to vent verbally, you have my cell number and I’m sure you can go outside or something.
I’m good at just going, ‘ut-huh’ and ‘keep your chin up’ and ‘go to the rental car, lock yourself in and scream for five minutes, it will feel better, trust me.’

Just curious: Why do you go if it’s so crappy? I’ve recently decided that enduring that is not worth it. Also, if I want to visit people, I visit people rather than feel obligated by a particular date when everyone else is traveling.
