Oooh! Shiny!

I’m feeling mostly better and I’ve got my appetite back. The doc subjected me to a battery of tests last week and gave me a clean bill of health. Turns out some of the pain has been spinal, rather than the kidney. Grrr.

The knee is healing slowly, but that’s simply more annoying than surprising. (Did I mention the knee? No? On the day I returned from Virginia, I fell down go boom in the driveway. Road rash sucks, and is slow to heal.)

The cats are still cute, and apparently still growing. Mayhem is filling out and looking more like a tomcat everyday. (But he still can’t stand up to his sister. She rules!). Mischief has not only taken over my pillow, she insists on draping herself over my head and grooming my hair in the middle of the night. It’s cute, but annoying. Both cats insist on “helping” me whenever I have a writing utensil in my hand.

Went to RenFest last weekend. Beautiful weather. Good time. My sweetie bought me a pretty rock — labradorite set in silver. Oooh! Shiny!

YAY for you — on all fronts. Well, okay, not the road rash one.

Sounds like things are looking good for you.

Glad things are improving. Hm. Back pain and kidney pain are that alike? I never would have guessed.

That’s part of the problem with my particular form of inflammatory arthritis — one thing sets off another thing, like a chain of dominoes. I suspect the inflammation around the kidney messed with the nearby muscles and tendons. Shortly after the kidney trouble started, I twisted slightly to one side reaching for something. I felt a sharp pain that I’ve sinced learned was most likely a vertebrae misaligning. The part that hurts is the floatin rib — right over the kidney.
