Between Worldcon, travel and the fact work is sh*t

I’m going to be sparse too. We found out at the 11th hour that the client expected US to download their exhibitor info from a2z. They hadn’t given us the administrator web-addy, user id and password……. GRRR.

Then they expected us to download a schedule for the preview that is online (from a2z), I went to look and was no allowed into that part of the data. Client contact for that part downloaded it herself and sent it to me this afternoon, so that isn’t a problem.

Boss rushed us into a part of this project–new product listing under product category headers–and decided that an all-Internet, no thought (let’s not ‘bother’ Paula with receiving forms) approach would be the choice. Well, last year they could list as many new product names as they wished in as many categories as they wished. 53 exhibitors responded for a total of 240 listings. this year, 40 exhibitors responded for 79 listings and I’m getting whacked about the head and shoulders about ‘give me the statistics and tell me why?” R&D budgets have been slashed, companies are regrouping, AND the way they did the online listing thing ONLY allows a total of five companies/product categories. So now I don’t know if I’m going to try and mop up her errors. I know I’m going to get blamed for it, I just don’t know how much.

Sigh. Once I get all the Worldcon stuff input, I’m going to go out to look for a job. I’ve refurbished resume and am doing some reading to bring me a bit more up to date.

Sorry to hear this — job hunting isn’t fun, even when it’s necessary. Sounds like thy bought the business just to destroy it with stupidity.
