Wednesday went pretty much as expected, although not as planned. As expected, we got the car stuck in the snow, but luckily a neighbor came along and pushed us out. I took Mom to the doctor, to breakfast, and then to physical therapy. I went to Walmart for mroe groceries and a crappy pair of snow boots while I waited on her to finish. Then back to the house for BLTs and a little mid-afternoon Dysfunctional Family Theatre. The drama continued to build to a crescendo around dinner time. Meanwhile, the pork roast turned out quite tender and tasty, and I served it with sweet buttered carrots, kale, and flavored rice. We watched a little bit of television and baked a pie while waiting for my sister and her family to arrive. They got here a little after midnight, then I went to bed.

So…do you get to stay home for Christmas?
I get to stay home for Thanksgiving this year, then do the frenetic thousand mile family odyssey for Christmas.

Actually, I get to spend Christmas with my sweetie’s family…. which will have its own set of issues, but at least I can blend into the background… 😉
