And how exactly were they expecting to enforce that?…

For a city in which setting off fireworks is illegal, there sure are a lot of fireworks being set off here tonight. When I returned home this evening about 10:30pm, the smoke of spent explosives already hung thick as a heavy fog. Some of the neighbors are setting of the usual assortment off firecracker-ish things. Others went straight for the heavy artillery. And they’re still at it. It’s gonna be a long night….

    Angelina has been

keeps trying to find a place where she cannot her it. It isn’t working, especially since all my windows are open to take advantage of the cool night air.

Bang, bang, bangity bang. whoosh. etc. (still going on)

We went up to 95th to avoid walking people, then kicked over to wornall/brookside/main. smoke, brightness, bangs, et al, were going on around us.

Now I’m switching between PBS which is showing how fireworks are made and 71, which is showing 1776.

We have the artillery barrage going on here too in Lawrence.

It usually slows down a bit after midnight, and I’m not usually early to bed anyway.

Wyandotte County has big firecracker business — so of course no one can resist coming over here and buying artillery. All male persons adore things that go Boom! It’s genetic.

It’s the same here… fireworks are illegal, so naturally the lawless have them out in force.
