It’s official, I’m out of style.

What ever happened to traditional, conservative business suits for women? You know, the ones with an above-the-knee skirt and a single-breasted jacket with a little shaping to it? In a nice dark color like black or charcoal, and a nice smooth wool gabardine? And a nice simple blouse in a smooth silk twill? Where did they go?

I’ve been to six department and discount stores in the past 24 hours and didn’t see a single outfit I could wear to a winter job interview. Nothing. Nada. Just pants suits and separates made out of nasty poly-triacetate or microfiber knits. Or wool skirts that look like blankets with fringe. Or long jackets that brush my ankles and make me look like a gangster from the 1920s.

Bleck!
