Getting a grip on getting a job…

Deep Breath.

Yesterday I took the day to get a clean perspective on things, literally and figuratively. I cleaned the main part of the house, though my studio and bedroom are still in chaos. I sat on the porch, getting my head on straight and enjoying what appears to have been the last day of warm weather this season. Made a few calls. Took a few calls. Mended rickety bridges with friends. Reassured family that it’s all good. (Hi, Mom! Sorry you had to find out I lost my job by reading it on the Internet. I was gonna call, really.) Freshened up my portfolio. Went to art class. Drank wine and talked late into the night with a friend visiting from out of town.

Today, I had my first job interview. (Yes, I work fast, but I had a head start.) It went well, and I hope to interview with the hiring manager soon. The company seems to be good peoples with good intentions. That’s important to me. I hope it works out.

Next up: I need to do more work on my portfolio and CLEAN MY ROOM. Sigh.
